Mohamed Abdel-Rohman, Professor of civil engineering at Kuwait University. Received his B.Sc. from Cairo University in 1972, Master and Ph.D. degrees from University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1976 and 1979, respectively. A researcher and one of the pioneers in the area of structural control. Co-authored "Control of Structures" with H. H. Leipholz by Martinus-Nijhoff Publishers, Boston, 1986. Authored "Control of Nonlinear Oscillations in Civil Structures" by Kuwait University in 1992 and "Structural Analysis" by Dar-Anashr for Universities, Cairo 1998. Received the Engineering Sciences Award in 1984 from Abdul-Hameed Shoman Foundation, Jordan, the Distinguished Researcher Award from College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University in 1996 and 2007 and the Professional Achievement Award from ACI-Kuwait Chapter in 2009.
