Analysis of the Financial Performance of Trust Merchant Bank (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9786209832741)

This study evaluates the financial performance of TMB, a commercial bank headquartered in the province of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Through an analysis of financial statements from 2009 to 2014, it has been demonstrated that, overall, TMB is in a strong position and possesses significant assets for its expansion. Its financial performance is therefore commendable. Indeed, the bank places particular emphasis on customer transactions. Over the period studied, these transactions accounted for an average of 61.33% of the average balance sheet total, with 37% on the asset side and 85.66% on the liability side, and contributed an average of 93% to net banking income. Regarding the assessment of credit risk management, the results sufficiently demonstrate that TMB has an effective credit risk management policy, as evidenced by the credit coverage ratio (2.16%) and the customer net worth ratio (45%), both of which are favorable. Operations, however, show shortcomings, as-apart from the average profitability ratio-the other indicators demonstrate that TMB must refine the management of its overhead costs and operating expenses to avoid falling into a situation of negative results.
