In this short story, Andy learns the meaning of true heroism. Often when people see something negative happening, they watch at the sidelines and wait for somebody else to do something; this is known as the "Bystander Effect". During Andy's action-filled adventure, he learns an important lesson: sometimes all one needs to be a hero is an extra pair of hands to help or the moxie to step out of a crowd when nobody else will. My hope is that Andy Takes Action will contribute to a more action-oriented culture, while also teaching children important lessons about following big dreams, lending a helping hand, and the shamefulness of bullying. Each element of the book was carefully considered. The style of painting should not intimidate children, but rather inspire their inner-artist. The compositions are part of the story, and shape-shift to maintain the viewer's interest. The characters change colour throughout the book - because colour makes no difference when it come to people. And there are a few "easter eggs" for both parents and children to enjoy: for example, "Leonardo" wants to be an artist, "Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova" is her full name, and "Isaac" the genius seems to have an apple he just cannot escape.
