Arianna's eyes are opened to the ways of native American healing as Hashke' nurses her back to health, and Hashke' learns that not all white people are evil. Arianna embraces the Navajo culture and the unconditional love of Hashke' and her new place in time and space. Settled and happy, Arianna's contentment doesn't last as they hear of the horrible conditions the captured Navajo are being held in.
