APPLE PIE ORDER: 42 TALES WITH A TWIST is a collection of short fiction by British journalist Leslie Roy Longhurst, complied and edited by his daughter, Hazel Spire. Step back into a world of public transport and typing pools, from Cairo to Switzerland, from prison to the village pub. Social and literary conventions may change, but there will always be a place for the well-crafted story. Whether murderous, humorous or romantic, these tales probe the human heart in the manner of O. Henry."We'd all like to surprise our friends and family with a good story with just the right words used in just the right way. That's the very essence of the story-teller's art, the yarn spinner's skill, thethe raconteur's expertise. APPLE PIE ORDER: 42 TALES WITH A TWIST is a treasure chest filled with small glittering gems of everyday existence that carry the reader along a well-worn expected path, until they take a delightful turn to an unexpected destination sure to amuse or amaze." J. L. Warnock, Kansas, author of the Boomer Street series, Round the Bend Café, and other award-winning fiction.
