Terry Crawford Palardy medically retired after teaching public school for thirty years. Multiple Sclerosis is the diagnosis that ended her career; cognitive symptoms of impaired short term memory, organizational skills and critical decision making limited her ability to continue in her classrooms. After retiring, Terry wrote and self-published several books, and then opened her own quilt and fabric shop. Without at-home school work taking her time, she was able to volunteer in her small town on a few citizen boards: the Friends of the Library, the Erie 4 Fire Association's fund raising group, a collaborative mind-mapping group of local artists, the town's historical society, and two quilt/needlework guilds.
