Armenian Sacred Music in Organ Arrangements (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798177037202)

Armenian Sacred Music in Organ Arrangements presents a collection of Armenian sacred melodies in arrangements for organ solo and voice and organ, together with Grigor Arakelian's original "Mashtots" Preludes.
Drawing on the rich heritage of Armenian sacred music and composers such as Mesrop Mashtots, Sahak Partev, Nerses Shnorhali, and Grigor Narekatsi, these arrangements seek to preserve the distinctive modal character and melodic identity of the Armenian tradition while exploring the expressive and harmonic possibilities of the organ.
The collection is intended for organists, singers, church musicians, conductors, and performers of Armenian music, and may serve both concert performance and church liturgical use.
A distinctive feature of the collection is its focus on the relationship between Armenian modal thinking and organ harmony, offering a contemporary instrumental interpretation while remaining closely connected to the musical language of the original sacred tradition.
