A Sacred Invitation to Dwell in the Transformative Mystery of the Cross
Many faithful Christians find themselves wrestling with their understanding of the atonement, Christ's work on the cross to reconcile us with God. Some struggle with inherited theologies that emphasize wrath, violence, and transaction; some have grown numb to the cross altogether.
At Home with God offers a refreshing alternative: a spacious, imaginative pilgrimage that invites you into the mystery of the atonement and the many ways it reveals God's love.
In this contemplative and accessible book, pastor Jason G. Edwards presents a creative framework for understanding Christ's work on the cross by taking you on a poetic journey through the many rooms of a house. With each chapter presenting a new room that uniquely explains how the cross transforms discipleship, At Home with God invites you to embrace the multidimensional beauty of Christ's love.
The journey begins at the front door, where you are welcomed into a dwelling shaped by grace. You pass through a library where broken stories are rewritten and enter a dining room set for liberation. As you move from room to room, you are immersed in the mystery and depth of salvation. It is the restoration of what was lost, the renewal of a creation long groaning for healing, and the quiet wonder of homecoming.
What you'll find in At Home with God:
With At Home with God, discover how the atonement is far more than a theological puzzle to solve; it's a path to walk and a mystery to inhabit. For those who carry questions, for those seeking healing, and for those longing to be rooted in something true, this book invites you into a sacred dwelling where justice and mercy meet, a space where sorrow is held, love is poured, and God makes room for us all.
