Beat The Drum Slowly (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781923441781)

In the blistering heat of the frontier, a man can't run from a past he's tried to bury. Blake Durant is a drifter with a heavy heart and a fast draw, riding his powerful stallion, Sundown, through the sun-scorched wastes of the West. When he seeks a moment's peace in the quiet town of Sunfish Creek, he instead finds himself looking down the barrel of a lawman's gun.

Mistaken for a vanguard of the notorious outlaw Tom Moran, Durant is thrown into a crowded jail cell alongside Moran's ruthless associates, the Coolidge brothers. But when a violent breakout leaves the Sheriff dead, and the town in chaos, Durant is forced to choose: flee and remain a wanted man, or hunt down the real killers to clear his name.

The stakes escalate when he discovers Moran's own daughter, Lisa, caught in the crossfire of her father's dark legacy. From desperate jailbreaks to high-altitude showdowns on Toby Ridge, "Beat the Drum Slowly" is a gripping tale of redemption, honour, and the thin line between a lawman and a loner. In a land where bullets fly faster than the truth, Blake Durant must fight to ensure he isn't the one they're beating the drum for.
