Behind the mountains (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781453723739)

Jean has arrived to Southern Mexico. The French student initially thought that he was living his ideal; helping the poor indígena communities. But in reality he was enlisted for a suicidal mission: the kidnapping of Colombia's Minister of Economics. This event unleashes a series of responses by the Mexican government, in its attempt to rescue the Minister from the guerrilla's hands. But everyone has their own agenda: the guerrilla, the government leaders, the army generals, the church, the Colombian government, the American officials, and even the drug cartel that helps the guerrilla in controlling the situation. A story that echoes the latest international news and shows the many sides of such an event; the real motivations of the people in power, the business side of the tragedy, the deal-making taking place behind the scenes, the use of media and social networks, the espionage and double-crossing. This thriller will make you hope that it is not based on a true story
