I am Mallory Whiting, and I am the author of Behind the Wall. You probably won't believe it, but I was ten when I started this book and I finished it at the age of 11. After I finished this book I started writing a book called Supurbia, which you can read when I complete it. I live near Mount Gambier, South Australia on a hobby farm. We have a few animals that we breed and vegetable gardens that we get a lot of home produce from. Some of my favourite subjects at school are design and technology, art and literacy. I enjoy horse riding and spending time with animals. I love to spend time outside doing lots of exploring and I like to build tree houses and huts. At my house we have a big tree house in a huge pine tree that I absolutely love. I share it with my sister. Our tree house helps me think; I think it's because it's so high and I can see so much. I have a little dog called Star that is usually by my feet or on my lap when I am writing. I really hope you enjoy this book; I hope it will be entertaining and you won't want to put it down!
