Susan Sanders grew up in Cabot, Vermont and graduated from Johnson State College, Cum Laude, as a single mother. She has been writing poetry for over forty years. After earning her M.A. from Northern Arizona University, (Summa Cum Laude) she returned to Vermont to be near her family. Susan worked for two newspapers, spent time in restaurants as both a server and a cook, worked as a secretary and exterior house painter. She worked in adult education in Vermont and has taught English classes at five colleges in the U.S. Currently, she teaches both online and ground classes for Southern New Hampshire University and Community College of Vermont. Jessica Sicely was born in Berlin, Vermont on a blustery afternoon in March of 1981. A quiet child, she was thoughtful and happy to be alone with her toys. Although she did fight with her older brother on regular basis, she became closer to him in her teens. She was a recipient of the National Junior Honor Society in Tucson, Arizona in 1994. The last two years of her life were quite challenging. During her short time here, she grew up fast and wrote poetry that was near and dear to her heart. Her untimely passing was tragic and these poems are a testimony to her love for writing.
