Being: A Study in Metaphysics (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781025298450)

"Being a Study in Metaphysics" is a profound exploration of the fundamental principles of ontology and the nature of existence. Authored by Aloysius Rother, S.J., this scholarly work delves into the philosophical inquiry of what it means to "be," navigating the complex landscape of reality through the lens of Scholastic thought. The text provides a systematic analysis of the attributes of being, including unity, truth, and goodness, while examining the vital distinctions between essence and existence.

Designed as a clear and concise guide for students and thinkers alike, the work addresses foundational metaphysical questions that have shaped the Western philosophical tradition. It bridges the gap between abstract conceptualization and logical application, offering readers a rigorous framework for understanding the first principles of science and thought. By focusing on the transcendental properties of being and the categories of substance and accident, Rother presents a cohesive vision of reality that remains intellectually stimulating. "Being a Study in Metaphysics" serves as an essential resource for those interested in Catholic intellectual history, Thomistic philosophy, and the enduring quest to understand the ultimate nature of the universe.
