Beyond Numbing: How Self-Love Heals the Wounds We Hide (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781971349435)

What if the reason you feel disconnected, exhausted, or emotionally numb isn't because something is wrong with you, but because you learned early how to survive?

For years, you may have believed you were just being strong.

Capable. High-functioning.

You kept going. Achieving. Holding it all together. Being everything to everyone.

And somewhere along the way, you learned how not to feel.

Beyond Numbing is a compassionate exploration of the quiet ways we disconnect from ourselves-through busyness, perfectionism, people-pleasing, overachievement, and emotional shutdown. Drawing from personal experience, trauma-informed insight, and deep self-reflection, Amie Rich invites you to see numbness not as a flaw, but as a protective response that once kept you safe.

This book is not about reliving trauma or fixing yourself.

It's about understanding why you learned to cope the way you did and gently learning how to come home to yourself again.

Inside, you'll discover:

• Why numbing behaviors are often rooted in early conditioning and survival patterns
• How success, productivity, and "being strong" can quietly mask emotional disconnection
• The cost of staying in survival mode, and how it shows up in relationships, leadership, and self-worth
• How self-love becomes the bridge from surviving to actually living
• A compassionate path toward awareness, healing, and embodied freedom

Written with honesty, warmth, and deep empathy, Beyond Numbing honors the parts of you that adapted to survive while showing you that you no longer have to live in survival mode.

You are not broken.

You were surviving.

And now, you get to choose something more.

If you've ever felt successful on the outside but empty on the inside...

If you've learned to keep going at the cost of yourself...

If you're ready to stop numbing and start reconnecting;

This book is for you.
