Beyond The Twentieth Ring: The Baja Saga (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781548796068)

The year 1989 was especially hectic for the family of Jenna and Tony Berringer as his San Diego law firm and her consulting business both grew dramatically, causing them to spend more time away from each other and their fast-growing teenagers. All is not the success they hoped they were working for as they discover that Martine and Carlos Geraldo, the source of funds for the sudden growth, are deeply involved in an underworld that Tony and Jenna would never choose to be a part of. The discovery forces them to question what is really important to them, their values, and the real cost of their lifestyle in Del Mar, California. Tony knows that to make the soundest decisions they must get away from the source of the problems for a few days. Timing is perfect as the long Thanksgiving weekend coincides with their 20th Anniversary. He surprises Jenna with a trip to a small, isolated resort, south of La Paz on the Sea of Cortez in Baja. It proves to be the perfect place for them to rediscover their love and steamy passion for each other. It is the setting where Jenna can reconnect with her spiritual center, is reminded of the importance and power of meditation for her wellbeing and balance in the Universe. It is also the place that allows them to decide how to disentangle themselves from their businesses, from the Geraldo's, and perhaps even from the frantic pace they've been living in the race for more and more and never enough in Southern California. Their time away is idyllic until Jenna decides to test the forces of nature and the very essence of life takes on new meaning.
