I am a man who was diagnosed with Autism as an adult. My mother believed I had it when I was 10 years old but the doctor said I was too old. I have a major needle phobia and special needs because of my Autism. Most of the medical field are not willing to accommodate them so I have had many traumatic experiences in the medical field. I have written this book for nurses, doctors, and techs to help them understand what other mean doctors, nurses, and techs did to me in the past and what a few nicer ones did different with me that worked better. Male doctors, nurses, techs, and serious trended female nurses all tortured me as a kid and serious trended female nurses continued to torture me into adulthood. The chipper acting, cheery female nurses I am asking them to give me have always comforted me in a way that comforts me by giving me hugs and rubbing my head to calm me down and holding my hand through needle sticks and trying to coach me through the scary experiences of needlesticks and procedures by consoling me using comforting words in addition to the physical comfort they showed me to help me pull through. All of these nurses that did this for me got way further than any of these other people ever did and being able to recieve these nurses for my nurses and them meet my comfort needs in a way that comforts me and also be willing to give me hugs and let me give them hugs is what I need. Both bad and good experiences are told in this book throughout my lifetime that I have had with the medical community. Most of them were bad, but a few were good. This book will help the doctors, techs and nurses see the difference between what works for me and what doesn't and what comforts me and what doesn't and be able to better meet my needs and have a far greater successful outcome with me in their care when they do. I hope this book brings about nurse reform and helps them to see the importance of meeting the patients needs as they are in a positive way.
