If you are fan of FAIRIES, FAIRY HOUSES, and FAIRY DOORS, this book is one of the most recent releases from the artist, Dawn D. Boyer, Ph.D., with full-page illustrations of fairy abodes, and the fantasy creatures who inhabit these tiny fairy houses or build the miniature fairy doors to their homes. Most of the fairies in the book are are naturally 'nude, ' but flowers, vines, leaves, and other elements tastefully hide their most 'private' parts to avoid the images being unacceptable.

In addition to the fairy houses, the artist has added beautiful line images of flowers, animals, birds, and mystery forest creatures to create 'stories' behind the images. Some are simple enough for beginner colorists, while other drawings are challenging for advanced colorists.
Methods of simple line drawings, and shading from stippling, dots, and cross-hatching are added throughout the illustrations to provide the colorist with hints of shading so they know where to increase the deepness or hue of their coloring media.
In addition, the artist has expanded the fairies ethnic backgrounds and characteristics to include, Caucasian, African-American, Asian, plump, pregnant, and old (grandmother, grandfather) fairy faces and features. This book should appeal to all ages and ethnic groups. There are 50+ differently designed line art illustrations in this book as well as 24+ samples of line art from the artist's other coloring books to play with. There is also a list of coloring books in the back of the book that provides readers and colorists a 'wish-list' for purchasing the artist's other Big Kid Coloring Books, ranging from line art to gray-scale coloring books.
The book is standard publisher paper (60# weight) and non-perforated paper with glue binding.
Dawn D. Boyer, Ph.D. has been drawing since she was five years old and attended Virginia Commonwealth University's, Bachelor of Art Program, and then re-engaged later at Radford University, earning her BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. Over the years, she has developed a distinctive style for her pen and ink illustrations of old barns and houses, as well as Colonial Williamsburg architectural portraiture. This is used to her advantage in creating imaginative illustrations of the delightful fairy houses and fairy doors.
