Originally published in 1870, the contents of this book were "compiled from a series of articles published in a religious periodical, about twenty years since, with the title, 'Thomas Scattergood, and his Times.' The sketches are "interspersed with numerous anecdotes, and contains valuable records of religious experience, exemplifying the doctrines and testimonies of the Society of Friends, and their accordance with the Holy Scriptures."
