Son of a more-or-less functioning alcoholic father and a codependent mother, he has lived more than fifty turbulent years with alcoholics who never made it to recovery. He was formally educated in mathematics and engineering, was a pioneer in information technology, and was a successful business executive, entrepreneur, and educator.
