Joy R. Bostic is an associate professor in religious studies and director of the African and African American Studies program at Case Western Reserve University in the UnitedStates. She is also a program faculty member for the university's Women and Gender Studies and Ethnic Studies programs. She is the author of African American Female Mysticism and chapters and articles on womanist and feminist religion and culture.

Itumeleng D. Mothoagae is a lecturer of New Testament and Early Christian Studies in the Department of Biblical and Ancient Studies, at UNISA in Pretoria. His fields of specialization are New Testament Ethics, Bible Translation, African Biblical Interpretation and Cultural Studies. His academic interests are Black Theology of Liberation, African Ethics and Identity Studies.

Tamelyn Tucker-Worgs is the Virginia E. Lewis Professor of Political Science, chair of the Department of Political Science and an associate professor of African American studies at Hood College in Frederick, MD, USA. Her current research focuses on morality and the black politics. She is the author of The Black Megachurch: Theology, Gender and the Politics of Public Engagement and several book chapters and journal articles about black churches and public life.
