This sequel to James P. O'Mealia's Fiasco combines financial intrigue with personal crisis to create a tense thriller about a friendship that runs bone deep.
The relationship between Roger Maydock and Thomas Morris has been fraught with conflict since their prep school days, when they were caught smoking marijuana in their dorm room. Roger fell on his sword for Thomas and was subsequently expelled.
Thomas has never gotten over his guilt about what happened. He feels driven to help Roger whenever his friend gets into trouble. In Fiasco, that meant trying to fix one of Roger's troubled subsidiaries. When Roger used a secret about his personal life to manipulate Thomas, Thomas took over the subsidiary and became a wealthy man.
Fifteen years later, Roger again calls on Thomas for help. The financial solvency of his insurance company is at risk, and he needs Thomas's magic touch. Complicating matters, Roger has cancer-and to make things worse, a teenage son who desperately needs a bone marrow transplant due to a rare blood disease.
As Thomas's life again becomes entwined with Roger's, he discovers an explosive secret his friend has been keeping for years. And he's powerless to protect his family from the fallout.
Like his protagonists in Fiasco and Blood Brothers, James P. O'Mealia attended the Hill School, a prep school in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. O'Mealia went on to graduate from Saint Lawrence University with double majors in English and economics. He spent forty years in the financial industry and is an expert at managing investments.
Mr. O'Mealia is married and has four children.
