Almost always renewal movements were initiated through books and/or they made intensive use of books as the medium of their dissemination and success."

He completed a DTheol at the University of Basel, where he studied with Karl Barth and J?gen Moltmann. He is the author of Listening to the God Who Speaks, The Christian Way of Living, and The Story of Modern Protestant Theology.
