Born Again, Made New: Cultivating an Intimate Relationship with Jesus (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798292970668)

"Born Again, Made New" is a heartfelt, practical guide for anyone who identifies as Christian but yearns for something deeper than just a label or a set of rules. It directly addresses the common spiritual emptiness experienced by many who "believe" in Jesus intellectually, yet struggle to understand or experience a genuine, intimate relationship with Him. Written with compassion and vulnerability from a personal journey marked by doubt and imperfection, this book offers a roadmap to true spiritual vitality.

The journey begins by challenging the misconceptions of what it means to be a Christian, moving beyond cultural identity, mere rule-following, or simply being "good." It unpacks the crucial truth that acknowledging Jesus as Lord leads to a transformed life and becoming His committed disciple, not just a passive label-wearer.

The book then dives into the foundational concept of being "born again", clarifying Jesus's words to Nicodemus in John chapter three. It explains that this is a spiritual rebirth by the Holy Spirit, not a physical act or human effort. This spiritual new birth grants us a new identity in Christ: we are fully forgiven, adopted as beloved children of God, declared righteous, and permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit, dismantling the old self and its struggles with shame and performance.

Finally, "Born Again, Made New" provides actionable steps for cultivating an intimate, daily relationship with Jesus. It redefines prayer as a two-way conversation (adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication, and vital listening), and highlights God's Word as His primary voice, offering practical ways to engage with it for personal transformation. The book emphasizes that true obedience flows from love, not legalism, driven by the Holy Spirit's ongoing renewing of our mind - a process that touches every area of life, including complex issues of identity and behavior. It also stresses the irreplaceable role of healthy Christian community for refreshment, accountability, and support, recognizing that while we all struggle and fail, we are meant to grow together, not alone.

Throughout, the author transparently shares personal struggles with self-doubt, past hurts, and ongoing imperfections, consistently pointing back to the unwavering truth that Jesus's love never fails, despite our shortcomings. It's a love that patiently carries us when our faith feels small, and continually offers a second chance. The book culminates with the powerful reminder that God desires to be an integral part of our everyday life, calling us to run the race with perseverance, confident that He who began a good work in us will perform it until the end. "Born Again, Made New" is a heartfelt invitation to shed emptiness, embrace a new identity, and step boldly into the liberating, abundant life found in an intimate, day-by-day relationship with Jesus Christ.
