Born by a Decree: The world owed us nothing. We owed ourselves (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798275301090)

Born by a Decree is the story of a generation that never asked to be born-but carried the weight of a country's decisions on their backs. Set against the backdrop of a Romania ruled by fear, silence, and state control, the novel follows Răzvan, one of the "Decreței"-children brought into the world because the regime banned abortion. Their lives were not shaped by dreams or freedom, but by political will, demographic plans, and the quiet brutality of survival.

With lyrical intimacy and unflinching honesty, Theo Harlan traces one young man's journey from childhood to adolescence, from first love to irreversible loss, from the illusions of youth to the unforgiving reality of becoming an adult in a country on the edge of collapse.

A blend of memoir, history, and literary fiction, Born by a Decree is not just a personal story-it is the voice of a forgotten generation, and a testament not to what they received, but to what they built for themselves.
