After frustration with dealing with bureaucratic hospitals and insurance companies, Dr. Patel concluded that the only way any health care system will improve and be sustainable is if the system puts the power back into the patients' hands and make them feel responsible and educated about their own health. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he received a bachelor's in Microbiology and completed medical school at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his medical residency training in an esteemed community hospital in the suburbs of Chicago and also has received additional specialty certification in wound care for the aging population. When Dr. Patel takes his doctor hat off, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, golf, basketball, traveling and assisting local and international charities in raising funds.
