Brandenburgers: Invasion of Russia This a alternative/historical fantasy set during Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of Russia in June of 1941. It is a fast-paced tale about a squad of soldiers racing across the Baltic States toward Leningrad. The squad is held together by the main character, Sergeant Wolfgang Steiner, and his companion, Corporal Fritz Schulz. These two drive the squad forward through one difficulty after another. The novel jump offs with a mission to capture and hold an important bridge for the spearhead which is following close behind. Hoping for a spot of rest following the successful completion of their assignment, the Brandenburgers are instead rudely thrust forward to confront a mysterious tank that is blocking the advance. All efforts to remove this road block have failed, and our heroes are called upon to work their magic.
