Breakfast with Alligators: and Other Tales of Traveling After 50 (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798839666689)

When Kay Bolden sets out at age 55 to solo hike the legendary Camino de Santiago, little does she suspect the dramas that await: a stormy night trapped in a brothel, a rogue 17th century ghost clamoring for escape, a Carpathian warrior disguised as God--not to mention the hazards of wayward Spanish sheep. Undeterred, she journeys on through Europe, South America and the Caribbean, learning that senior travel is not for the young and unseasoned.

In Breakfast with Alligators, Bolden leads us on a playful romp over land and sea, where even a quiet breakfast of catfish étouffée can turn into a staring contest with an alligator. Through it all, she paints a vibrant portrait of what it means to age adventurously.
