Nicole Renee Wyatt was born in the tiny town of Franklin, Virginia, but was raised in Georgia. After facing a most difficult divorce, Nicole relocated her family to Athens, Georgia, where she found work at the nearby University of Georgia and soon after became a student. Life as a single parent to two daughters was a struggle in extremes. Nicole worked non-stop to provide for the family and keep up her studies, but something had to give, and she was forced to discontinue her educational pursuits. Since there was little money to seek professional therapy to help her cope with her divorce and her failures, Nicole channeled her emotions into writing stories. Those stories became a form of self-therapy for her, and before long, the stories turned into entire novels. Butterflies are Free? (The Butterfly Stories) was the first in a series of novels, and was followed by Butterflies in the Storm. These novels are based on a very vivid dream which was nearly a premonition of things to come. When Butterflies are Free? was nearly completed, Nicole's writing skills were attacked with a serious case of meningitis that left her completely unable to imagine or write. It took several years for her brain to heal and for her imagination to return. She hopes her writing will help others to remember the importance of perseverance. She firmly believes living is not just about surviving, but also about flying and obtaining those dreams and goals, even through insurmountable odds. Nicole currently lives in the quaint city of Commerce, GA and works as an academic advisor at the University of Georgia.
