I'm not going to mention the C word. I'm not even going to talk about a cure. What I am going to say is that if you follow the guidelines in this book, it will undoubtedly help you in your battle, even if that battle hasn't yet started. The secrets contained within will also help you to lose any excess and unwanted weight. You will feel fitter and healthier. You will have more energy and also have more oxygen in your bloodstream. After all, the American Cancer Society in May 2012 issued a report concluding that since 2006 there has been an explosion in research on complementary therapies and there is "overwhelming evidence that diet, exercise and weight control are three complementary therapies that can increase survival times and even prevent a cancer returning". It has been deliberately designed to detoxify, with an added emphasis on those foods that are either alkaline (because cancer likes acid), natural anti-oxidants (that attack 'free radicals') or those that encourage cancer cells to commit 'suicide' (that's called apoptosis). The good news is that I am also quite a 'foodie' so there isn't one recipe in here that will not be a joy to eat. Where possible, I have included low glycemic foods, so that they release their energy giving sugars over a longer period of time, making you fuller for longer. That 'fuller for longer' drive is also why we include a lot of soups as part of the plan, as it has been clinically proven that soup 'tricks' the stomach into not sending 'I'm hungry' signals to the brain.
