Cardboard DIY by Itoshige Studio 20 Templates for Mini Furniture & Storage (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9788409713431)

CARDBOARD DIY BY ITOSHIGE STUDIO: 20 TEMPLATES FOR MINI FURNITURE & STORAGE

Cardboard is often seen as disposable packaging, but this book redefines it as a practical and aesthetic design material. Learn how to upcycle cardboard into durable mini furniture and storage items with creative techniques developed by ITOSHIGE STUDIO.

This book compiles the best cardboard crafting methods from the ITOSHIGE STUDIO YouTube channel, presenting 20 carefully curated designs for all skill levels. From trays and picture frames to sliding-lid boxes, desktop drawers, and cabinets, these practical creations come with 1/2-scale templates for precise replication.

Traditional cardboard projects focus on easy assembly, but this book emphasizes longevity and aesthetic appeal. It introduces techniques to achieve a refined finish, hiding the corrugated edges and enhancing durability.

Sustainability isn't just about using cardboard-it's about how you use it. This book explores glue-free bonding techniques and ways to repurpose common materials, promoting eco-friendly crafting that minimizes waste.

While cardboard lacks the durability of wood or metal, its renewable nature is a key advantage. This book incorporates the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection and transience. Unlike furniture designed to last a century, cardboard crafts can be repurposed and reborn in new forms.
