Laura's life should have been like, totally perfect. Set between 1986 and modern times, Carmilla '86 is a campy retelling of the classic lesbian horror novella Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu. Weaving in beloved vampire tropes with a strong does of eighties references, Carmilla '86 is a horribly beautiful love letter to the original work.

This work also features a bonus short story called Hatchett Grannies. Jane Hatchett has been alive for more than two hundred years and for one hundred and ninety-four of them she's been in love with her best friend, Annie. Annie is a siren, and together they've made some beautiful (but unfortunately platonic) music.

But now it's the bitchin' eighties and devilish record exec Lark Dixon is offering Jane's band a chance at the big time... only Jane and Annie can't risk the limelight. When Lark gets Jane alone, she offers Jane something she could only dream of- another chance at humanity and possibly a shot with Annie- but it's at a huge cost.
