Cedar Hollow Summer: A Demeter Society Story (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781735750828)

Escape to the tiny historic village of Namur, Wisconsin in this humorous and heartwarming romantic comedy.

Betsy has a lot going for her: a great job at her sister's business, a recent induction into the Demeter Society for women in farming, and a cute little house just minutes from downtown. She's also expecting her first baby. Great news, right? But the baby's father skipped town months ago, only to make a rare appearance when it suits his whims. To complicate matters further, Betsy struggles to ignore signs that she's falling for Karl, her childhood best friend and all around great guy. Convinced it's too late for her and Karl, Betsy tries to keep her feelings under wraps, but that may prove difficult, particularly once Karl picks up on her not very well concealed secret.

In the meantime, Wes, Namur's favorite mobile librarian, is preparing to wed his own childhood sweetheart. He's more in love than ever, but he's also not so sure he's ready to take on the responsibility of two aging parents and a sprawling 19th century farm. Determined to convince himself he has what it takes to be the husband Bea deserves, Wes starts doling out advice to the village's residents, who've been coming to him all year long with problems big, small, and (embarrassingly) personal. Antics ensue as the consequences of Wes's words of wisdom turn out in ways he hadn't intended.

The fourth book in the beloved Demeter Society series is perfect for new and returning fans of uplifting, laugh out loud tales, well told. Read it as a stand-alone or enjoy the whole series. Either way, you're sure to love your visit!
