Characters (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781503277373)

Phoenix (aka Stephan Heard) believes in the power and beauty of language, poetry, fiction, art. He lives in the Salt Lake City area and has been writing ever since he proudly declared to the world in the third grade that he wanted to be a writer. He has his bachelor's degree in English literature, earned at the University of Utah, and will continue to write as long as this is possible. Already, he has written six full length novels, four poetry collections (including Characters), one experimental novella, one novella (the previously published Silent Noise), two short story collections, one (informal) philosophical treatise, and two full length plays. It seems that at this point in his career, Phoenix cannot stop writing, cannot stop sharing his work with the hope that he can inspire and encourage others to never give up, to be a strong character in this complex drama we are all in, and to rise from the ashes.
