Description
x"That kind of world has already ended, so what can you do? Do you have anything to say? History is on the winning side now, isn't it, Youngseok?"
"Mzee, I don't mean to argue about who won and who lost. When I think about their abuse, which was seen in my young eyes at the time, I mean that even if history is on the side of the winners, those anti-human acts should be pointed out properly. I think their only sin was to insist on doing what was right for people." (the last part of the story)
This work makes us realize that the war will leave a great trauma, not only to the people who experience it in person, but also to the immature generation who inadvertently watches it next to them.
Even if people are not fighting wars like World War I and II now, there are still wars in the world, including the war between Ukraine and Russia.
The author, who has lived with the trauma of childhood in the middle of the ideological Korean War, seems to feel this will appeal to readers through his experiential novel: May you acknowledge the diversity that exists between people and move on to peace, not war, so that younger generations who will still live many years can live healthy lives without trauma.(Translator's note of the story)
