Chloe Blue: Reaping (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781539141297)

With the deep wounds of her childhood barely healed, young Chloe loses contact with her older sister, Claudine, the one person she could count on. Although subsequently blessed with kind, wonderful adoptive parents, Chloe will never be a hero, even when she reaches adulthood. The past has left too many scars.

After graduation, Chloe goes into military service, only to be disappointed once again. The mechanics of war turn out to be less about justice and more about who can make the most money. Her enlisted time ends with a bang as tragedy strikes back home in the United States and her comrades turn viciously against her.

An unlikely friend helps her escape, and Chloe returns to a city with no refuge awaiting her-only to reconnect with her long-lost sister. Together again, they dive into a seductive realm of crime and power. Determined to exact justice to avenge the people she loves, Chloe becomes a dreaded hunter.

And she never misses her mark.

This compelling read, the first in a two-part series, brings into focus the flaws in our systems. But in a world where everyone must live with the consequences of their choices, the future is not predictable.
