The Middle Ages was a time of stagnation and abject penury for most of the inhabitants of Europe and Africa. From time to time those faithful were discovered. The establishment knew they were the remnant and descendents of those who never bowed to the Universal Romanist Church but claimed they were a new set of spin-off groups of heretics insisting on following the outlawed Jewish Messianic traditions.
