This racial injustice is still "alive and well" on the local, state, and national level today, and in particularly in our fire and police departments. The author experienced life changing events during his 31+ years' experience as he struggled to climb the ladder of success in an effort to reach the top. As a result of his fight for justice and racial equality, he became a drum major for justice.
