Benedict C. Doepfer critically analyzes a networked approach to value creation processes of young knowledge-intensive entrepreneurial firms and assesses precise strategies and tactics in a regional context. He introduces the concept of co-innovation competence which he also examines empirically. The research results indicate that entrepreneurs follow a specific approach towards networking: They minimize transaction costs by applying an on-demand-based perspective of networking. In this case entrepreneurs relate to regional innovation promoters as knowledge and relational brokers and also reach beyond regional networks to exploit structural holes.
Benedict C. Doepfer holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and is a research affiliate to the Center for Entrepreneurship of the Catholic University Eichstaett-Ingolstadt.
