Here he becomes so involved in the drug sub-culture of that era, that it takes a toll on his academic performance. Out of desperation, he begins planning cunning ways to survive again. By coincidence, this story will offer a pivotal event that occurs on May 4, 1971 .... the first anniversary of the Kent State massacre. Somehow Robby not only survives these two misadventures, but he thrives. Because of these unnerving experiences, he ultimately concludes that the old adage, "That which does not kill me will only make me stronger," applies directly to him.
