A playful introduction to concepts from Josef Albers's theories of color interaction, written for young readers, ages 5-8

Join Wilder, a curious child with an eye for color, on an adventure into the astonishing world of color interaction! You will learn that colors aren't always what they seem. Follow along with interactive experiments, and be amazed as your eyes deceive you.

Based on the teachings of the acclaimed artist and educator Josef Albers, this story follows a delightfully inquisitive child named Wilder and his grandfather as they experience together five of Josef Albers's most mind-bending color experiments. These experiments help children explore the ways our perception of color can shift and astonish us. Author and illustrator Zebedee Helm's adaptations of the experiments are perfectly suited to a child's sense of puzzlement and play.

Learn about:

- The AFTER IMAGE of colors by staring at one color and then looking away and "seeing" its complementary color
