Community Policing Thinkers (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9789347397561)

Community Policing Thinkers explores a partnership-based approach to public safety, highlighting the importance of collaboration between police and the communities they serve to address both crime and the fear of crime. Moving beyond programs, it presents community policing as a fundamental shift in the role of the police and their relationship with the public. The book examines key components, including community partnerships, organisational transformation, and problem-solving processes such as scanning, analysis, response, and assessment. It also reflects on contemporary developments, from the impact of terrorism on public trust to the growing role of technology, as well as ongoing calls for police reform and alternative responses to non-criminal situations.
