Consciousness as the Ground of Being (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798235617568)

What if consciousness is not a product of the brain but the very foundation of reality itself?

In Consciousness as the Ground of Being, Dominik Wörner offers a clear, engaging, and accessible exploration of the philosophy of Bernardo Kastrup, one of the leading contemporary defenders of Analytic Idealism.

Rather than treating consciousness as an accidental by-product of matter, Kastrup argues that consciousness is primary and that the physical universe emerges from a deeper field of universal mind. This perspective challenges the assumptions of materialism while remaining firmly grounded in logic, philosophy, and contemporary scientific discussion.

This book carefully explains Kastrup's central ideas without requiring prior philosophical knowledge. Step by step, it examines how Analytic Idealism addresses some of humanity's oldest and most profound questions:

- What is consciousness?
- Is the external world independent of the mind?
- How does the brain relate to experience?
- What is the nature of personal identity?
- Can free will exist?
- Why does reality appear physical?
- What does modern science actually imply about consciousness?

The book also explores the strengths, implications, and possible criticisms of Kastrup's philosophy. Rather than presenting unquestioned conclusions, it encourages readers to think critically, compare competing worldviews, and examine the assumptions that shape our understanding of reality.

Readers interested in philosophy of mind, metaphysics, consciousness studies, cognitive science, spirituality, psychology, and the intersection of science and philosophy will discover a thoughtful guide through one of today's most fascinating philosophical frameworks.

Whether you are entirely new to Analytic Idealism or already familiar with Bernardo Kastrup's work, this book provides a structured overview that connects complex ideas in a coherent and accessible way.

Written with intellectual honesty and deep respect for the pursuit of truth, Consciousness as the Ground of Being invites readers to reconsider one of the most fundamental questions ever asked:

What is reality-and what if consciousness comes first?
