Constitutional Inadequacies: An Introduction to the Study of Abnormal Constitutions (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781025572123)

"Constitutional Inadequacies: An Introduction to the Study of Abnormal Constitutions" is a significant medical treatise exploring the relationship between human morphology, endocrine function, and systemic health. Written by Nicola Pende, a pioneering figure in the fields of endocrinology and biotypology, this work examines the various ways in which the human constitution can deviate from the biological norm. The text delves into the classification of human types, the profound influence of hormonal glands on both physical and mental development, and the clinical implications of constitutional imbalances.

This volume serves as an essential historical reference for students of medicine and the history of science, offering a detailed framework for understanding how individual biological makeup influences susceptibility to disease and psychological behavior. Through a blend of rigorous clinical observation and physiological theory, the work attempts to provide a scientific basis for the study of human diversity and constitutional pathology. It remains a fascinating study of the early 20th-century intersection between anatomy, psychology, and internal medicine, highlighting the complex factors that shape the human form and its functional capabilities.
