Convert Your Pool: From Chlorine to Chemical-Free (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798196311680)

The Complete Guide to Chemical-Free Pool Conversion

Convert Your Pool is a practical, step-by-step construction guide for transforming existing inground swimming pools into natural swimming systems that operate without ongoing chemical treatment.

It explains proven, real-world methods for converting chlorine pools into biologically filtered swimming environments using circulation design, regeneration planting zones, and microbial substrate systems.

Written for homeowners, advanced DIY builders, and pool professionals working with residential structures.

• Pool shell assessment for conversion (gunite, vinyl liner, fiberglass)
• Three system types: retrofit conversion, hybrid systems, full natural rebuilds
• Step-by-step construction process: structural changes, plumbing modifications, filtration zones, planting installation
• Biological filtration design using plants and microbial systems instead of chlorine
• Green-water phase and first-fill stabilisation process
• Year-one maintenance schedule for clarity and system balance
• Troubleshooting: algae, circulation issues, plant loss, and water quality problems

Natural swimming pools replace chemical sanitation with biological filtration.

Water is circulated through a planted regeneration zone where aquatic plants absorb nutrients. A microbial substrate breaks down organic matter, while continuous flow maintains oxygen balance and system stability.

Once established, the system operates without routine chemical dosing.

Written by Hector Navarro, a licensed Florida general contractor with 34 years of residential construction experience. The methods are based on more than forty completed natural swimming pool conversions across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

Everything you need to convert a chlorine pool into a fully functioning natural swimming system is inside this guide. Build a healthier, lower-maintenance backyard environment that works with nature, not against it.
