Justice doesn't stop for earthquakes.

Kara Greims is Neo Los Angeles' most dangerous secret: a Free Judge with the power to execute criminals who escape mundane law. She killed corrupt police commissioner James Torres. Now she wears a mask.

When the Big One levels the city, it unleashes something worse than aftershocks-Slate Mountain Correctional collapses, flooding the ruins with hardened killers. While two million survivors scramble for water and shelter, a criminal mastermind is carving an empire from the rubble.

The police are crippled. The fires are closing in. Half the city will die within days.

Kara has one week to identify the kingpin, serve supernatural justice, and stop a takeover that will turn Neo Los Angeles into a mass grave. But the ruthless Janine Fellows answers to someone deadlier. And Kara's brother's killer-Brendan Mercer-is hunting in the smoke.

Can she bring down a criminal empire before the city burns?

Or will the earthquake's body count be nothing compared to what comes next?
