Gaspar Anastasi has served as senior pastor and apostle of Word Of Life Ministries for more than 34 years. He draws from a wealth of personal, ministry and counseling experience, as well as Biblical understanding in his books and teaching on inner healing. He and wife Michele founded the Stop Hurting Start Healing ministry to free people of the same spiritual and emotional traps in which they were once held. People travel great distances to bathe in the healing prayer, free counseling and rich teaching of the SHSH ministry. Gaspar and Michele also air a weekly cable television show called "Stop Hurting Start Healing" in southwest Florida. In 1983, they founded the New Life Dream Center, an 18-month residential life transformation program for drug and alcohol abusers. Through NLDC, thousands of men's and women's lives have been miraculously changed and their families restored. In 2009, the Board of County Commissioners recognized Gaspar Anastasi and NLDC for "improving the quality of life in Lee County". In 2012, NLDC will celebrate 19 years of changed lives. Gaspar seeks to touch and heal-not just those in his congregation, but-the entire community. To that end, Word Of Life sends out Foodmobiles every week to bring food, clothing and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their needy neighbors. Local "Adopt-a-Block" and "Adopt-a-Nursing Home" programs connect volunteers in the church with their neighbors and the often-forgotten elderly and infirmed. People from the community receive prayer free of charge at Word Of Life's Healing Room every Saturday. In 2010, Gaspar founded Unlocking Kingdom Destiny whose aim is to take back America for Jesus-one city at a time. Other ministries started by Gaspar Anastasi include: Global Church Fellowship International which supports and mentors local pastors and leaders, with a strong base in developing nations; Covenant With Israel Celebration of southwest Florida whose aim is to support the Jewish community and promote unity between the Church and the nation of Israel; Kairos University which offers Associate to Doctorate-level education in biblical studies coupled with missions experience.
