Critical Network Infrastructures: Methods for Modelling and Analysis (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781041116684)

Highlighting critical issues surrounding network infrastructures, this book offers innovative methods and parameters for modelling, analysing, enhancing reliability and safety, and addressing vulnerabilities. It is imperative to develop new tools or enhance existing ones to ensure the dependable, secure, and resilient operation of these infrastructures, and this book offers solutions to achieve this goal. The primary focus of the book lies in the application of graph theory and game theory and methods in various capacities. Drawing from over 15 years of research, the authors have distilled their findings into simple yet powerful tools for mathematical modelling, analysis, and optimisation of real, intricate technical systems and networks.

This book presents a straightforward approach to graph theory for modelling, analysing, and optimising various complex networks. It explores weight functions within graph theory and utilises graph theory terminology to assess the reliability, safety, and vulnerability of network structures. The text combines SWOT analysis and game theory with nature, graph and game theories, incorporating various multi-criteria methods and other strategies for continuous goal functions. The book continues by introducing readers to a range of system and network modelling tools, including graph and game theory models, along with algorithms, methods, and techniques for both single and multi-criteria optimisation.

Written to be used as a reference for specialists, engineers, and academics involved in research and development. It also serves professionals responsible for the reliable and safe operation of transportation systems, energy networks, and telecommunication networks, as well as those developing solutions for Intelligent Transport Networks.
