It delves into the historical context, the challenges faced by colonial administrators, and the implications of these policies on the local economy.

This historical study offers valuable insights into the intersection of economics, politics, and colonialism, shedding light on the dynamics that shaped the region's development in the early 20th century. It is essential reading for scholars and researchers interested in economic history, colonial administration, and Southeast Asian studies.
