D Dock: Divorces, Drunks, Delusional, Devious, Dysfunctional (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798183893137)

They all came to Osprey River Marina to leave. Then life happened.

Dakota Bellegarde arrives at a hidden Georgia marina with a leaky sailboat, a broken marriage, and a single word: temporary. He's just passing through-a few repairs, some provisions, then south to the Bahamas. But Osprey River has other plans.

Behind the reeds and Spanish moss, D Dock is a floating neighborhood of divorcees, drunks, dreamers, and alligator-watchers. There's Larry, who hides his empty house behind bad jokes and good beer. Maggie, who invented a boyfriend to keep the world at a safe distance. Napoleon, a captain in search of a crew. Roxie, who sees through everyone and loves them anyway. And BC, a woman who arrived with someone else's plan and is learning to choose her own.

As the seasons turn and a hurricane bears down, Dakota discovers that "temporary" is the easiest lie we tell ourselves-and that staying might be the hardest, most honest work of all.

D-Dock is a love letter to the people who keep floating anyway: funny, wounded, and unexpectedly wise.
