T.G. "Tommy" Joffrion was born in 1959 and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana along with eleven siblings by his parents, Virgil and Rosemary. After graduating from Ascension Catholic High School he joined the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office as a patrolman. In 1983 he began his career with the Louisiana State Police assigned to Troop A in Baton Rouge. In addition to patrol duties, he was a member of the State Police SWAT team and in 1991 received the prestigious "Trooper of the Year" award. Trooper Joffrion was promoted to the rank of Sergeant soon afterwards and to Lieutenant in 1995. He retired from the department as the Executive Officer at Troop A in 2006. He is married to the former Holly Talbot of Paincourtville, Louisiana and is the father of four children: Laney, Justin, Morgan, and Peyton. He continues to live across the street from the home where he was raised, on the banks of Bayou Lafourche. Hunting, fishing, and the greatest game ever invented, golf, are his pastimes. In the last few years, his three grandchildren, Emerson, Ethan, and Evangeline have broken through the armor surrounding his heart.
